Create Users

This topic tells you how to create users for servicing queues and hunt groups.

Procedure

  1. Open the Configuration panel by clicking the  button in the top right of the CONDUCTOR window.

If  is not visible, switch to View mode or click .

  1. Select Add User to open the Add User sub-panel and then enter the new user's details in the displayed fields.

Field or Option

Description

First Name

Enter the new user's first name.

Last Name

Enter the new user's last name.

Username

Enter a user name for the new user. This must be at least six characters long. The user will use this to log on to storm DTA.

Password

Enter the password that the new user must provide when logging on to storm DTA. In addition to any rules imposed by your organisation, the password must be at least nine characters long and must not contain the user’s first name, last name, username, or your organisation name.

Email

Enter the new user's email address.

Site

Select the geographical site at which the new user is based. 

CLI Presentation

Select this option if you want a particular number to be displayed to the parties dialled by the new user and then select that number from the options list.

Extension

Enter the new user's unique internal extension number. This will also be the starcode for allowing the user to log on to a desk phone, where relevant.

The system checks whether the extension entered here has already been assigned to a user, and, if so, produces an error message.

  1. Click the Add button.
  2. Repeat the steps above to create further users.
  3. Close the Add User sub-panel.

Related Task - Edit a User

  1. Open the Configuration panel by clicking the  button in the top right of the CONDUCTOR window.

If  is not visible, switch to View mode or click .

  1. Select Edit User to open the Edit User sub-panel.
  2. Select the user from the options list and then edit their details in the displayed fields.
  3. Click the Edit button.
  4. Close the Edit User sub-panel.

 Note: when you save a user's details, the system checks whether the extension has already been assigned to a user, and, if so, produces an error message. If not, it assigns the extension to the user and also stores it as their starcode, overwriting any starcode value previously recorded for them.
